These guys have been through it all whilst we sit in our arm chairs wishing we could be there but at the same time wondering how long we'd hack it.With a accolade of an introduction by Bear Grylls this book (one of the great Haynes manuals) had me riveted from the start - I've read many a book on bushcraft/survival and subscribe to a magazine of a similar name. I'll never have to put into practice a lot of the info in the book, how to survive a rip tide on your hand made raft etc. But knowing the author has "been there and done that" makes every chapter a genuine pleasure to read. Following the authors technique I did manage to light a campfire from the ember of a friction fire.The author also gives the reader snippets of his own experiences over the years and these real life 'cases' nicely tie together the information and real life experience. ### ⭐⭐⭐ very glossy but limited... *by R***Y on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 13 April 2021* Some good pictures but not much information, seems to be more of an ego trip. Well my dad loves the book, so much in fact he has now gone out and bought a few more survival guides much to the dismay of my mother.
