Seems a waste of plastic to get the whole arm each time. They're certainly sturdy enough to last....** A: Hi I am afraid you do have to buy the handles each time. Does seem crazy that you can't get just the refills. However you do get 10 or 15 flossers with each handle and to be honest once they are used up you could do with a new handle. **Q: Are these the ones with tape or ordinary floss?** A: It's like a tape rather than thin floss. I love them. I've used them for years and wouldn't use anything else. I'll try and put a photo on a review.
