Clockwise the flow as you set mode h: normal flow rate as the speed output w1: wave box function. Idea for setting a pulse mode for set wave box function w2: normal mode with clockwise 4mins to 99mins w3: normal mode with reef mode feed mode 10mins. Review: Works well, but directions could be better. Longevity TBD - I bought two of the SCP-180M's (wifi capable) to replace two Maxspect Gyre 250's that I had, one of whose motors failed after over 7 years of continuous use (not bad!). On first glance, these pumps feel sturdy and they install easily and securely to the 1/2" glass on my tank. Longevity is yet to be established, of course. If there are any surprises (like premature failure), I'll try to remember to update this review. The SCP-180Ms definitey produce more flow than my old Gyres (an important consideration for my 220 gallon SPS-dominated reef tank), so I've dialed back the pumps to 70% flow in the daytime and 30% at night. Setting up wifi was a bit of a pain because these pumps only connect on 2.4 GHz wifi and require you, on your phone or tablet using their automatic setup method, to connect at 2.4 GHz for setup. This won't do if you have a 5 GHz wifi network running at home or a 5/2.4 GHz network (I have an Orbi mesh network that doesn't allow me to shut off 5 GHz wifi independently of the 2.4 GHz wifi) but your phone connects preferentially to the 5 GHz network. Anyways, I learned that the way to connect in my case was to use the AP (access point) mode after which wifi setup was straightforward. The SCP-180M capabilities meet my needs, but the included directions are difficult to understand. But, with some effort, I was able to figure out the different modes and how to access/change different settings. I'm sure that there's a video somewhere that might have helped, but I managed without. The real keys to the kingdom, for me, was figuring out that the AP connection method was the way to go. Review: Powerful wave maker - I have a 125 african cichlid tank with about 14 peacocks and 3 haps, most are teenagers and a few almost fully grown, so they produce a lot of POOP! I had a smaller wave maker in there and it did pretty good, but this one really pushes water, it catches every corner of the tank even in between the rocks. Theirs 8 speed settings, during the day and at night i leave it on setting 5, when i get home from work i usually turn it to 8 to get anything that didnt get suspended in the water thru out the day. Been keeping my tank clean and POOP free! It also agitates the water surface extremely well for oxygen. I did have a problem when i first got it, about a week or 2 weeks later on the slow setting it was making a ticking noise, i went thru the return process but the next day i did a water change and moved the wave maker and the ticking went away so i cancelled the replacement, ever since then its been doing good, I will update if things go south.
