The replacement lighter filled easily with no leaks and performs as expected. Every company has a few bad items that make it to the customer, but not every company makes it right. KOLTEC made it right, and they are a standup company. This is a superb torch, and you can do a lot worse when choosing a full-size lighter. Use the adjustment carefully, as it is easy to overdo it. This lighter has some serious power. This lighter works great, when I can manage to partially refill it. The adapters that came with it form a sloppy fit, resulting in more butane venting out than going into the reservoir.

Update: I was contacted quickly by the seller and they made it right by sending me a new lighter, which worked great. The replacement lighter filled easily with no leaks and performs as expected. Every company has a few bad items that make it to the customer, but not every company makes it right. KOLTEC made it right, and they are a standup company. This is a superb torch, and you can do a lot worse when choosing a full-size lighter. Use the adjustment carefully, as it is easy to overdo it. This lighter has some serious power. This lighter works great, when I can manage to partially refill it. The adapters that came with it form a sloppy fit, resulting in more butane venting out than going into the reservoir.
