The Nice Weight is a set of four fermentation weights designed to fit wide mouth Mason jars. Each weight measures approximately 2 3/4 inches in diameter and 9/10 inch thick, featuring convenient handles for easy removal. Made from lead-free soda-lime glass, these weights ensure your vegetables stay submerged under brine for optimal fermentation.

## Description

These were developed to keep the vegetables below the level of the liquid in the jar, which is really one of the only cause of possible failure when using lacto fermenting preserving methods. They are made of non iridized glass. Glass is known to be one of the most inert substances and should not leach chemicals into your Ferment. These fermenting weights are not meant to be heated in any way. Size 2 3/4” wide and about 9/10" thick to fit a wide mouth canning jar.

Not quite heavy enough for me and difficult to get out if they arent at the very top of the jar. I had to go buy a pair of tongs with a good gripping power just to get these out of the bottom of my jar. I've been experimenting with different kinds of kraut so i'm making smaller batches and these just dont come out well if they are further down in the jar.
