She did this practice test and got into GATE. She said the questions were easier which probably makes sense because I seem to have bought the book for the grade level above (incoming 6th grade). Either way it was helpful to her because of the detailed answers/ explanations to the questions in the back of the book. I have bought the yellow COGAT books before and the kids didn't like them. It was more for exposing him to the types of questions these types of test require; to help him think differently, more broadly. I had him write his answers on a separate piece of paper so I could reuse the book for other children. The explainations on how to get the answers are fantastic and an important part of what makes this book a brilliant addition as a teacher’s aid.
