Its a silicone so you want to make sure its clean if dust, dirt, water. Nice and dry and clean then add, any messed up you clean up with a blade(straight razor, with a free hand not a box cutter) **Q: Would this bond two pieces of silicone; silicone to silicone?** A: maybe it might? if you lay down a bead of this caulk and let it dry then apply more on top of the dried caulk it seals great. hope that helps **Q: For sink traps?
