Requires a power cord at all times; when you plug it in, it presents a quirky menu that you can't use. Appears to be configurable for Android machines too (though I've never heard of an Android machine with a Lightning connector). I surpassed the send-it-back window before I tested it, so I just threw it away. You can buy the genuine Apple product for only a little bit more; while I'm not in love with Apple or their prices, in this case, that's what you want to do. Threw this thing in the garbage where I’m sure the creator of this probably found it. Sooooo disappointing amazon even allows this to be sold. Went to Best Buy and spent the extra 13 bucks to get a real one. The weight difference between the two almost exact similar items was unreal. It was like it was missing parts in the inside.
