Didn't use them going up but tried them on the way down and they were worth every penny. People were struggling to walk down the icy paths while I was walking down them with confidence. They are also very good on the normal paths as you get extra grip.The only downside to these and it depends on what type of boots you have, is that the front strap that goes over the front toe area of the boot can crush your toes a bit. I have a material base boot (not leather) and I found the strap started to hurt after about 30mins so had to remove them. However other people had better leather boots and it wasn't a problem. I guess if you push the front/top area above your toes and it moves easily then these might hurt but if your boots are rock solid in that area then it should be fine. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great grip but broke *by M***S on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 🇬🇧 on 1 March 2016* Used these going up Snowdon via Crib Goch in February. They are very easy put on and do not come off. However after about 100m of walking one of the chain links broke which caused the spikes to shift around under foot and made walking dangerous. I decided to venture on with just one on and use that foot as my lead for grip. They do provide an extremely high amount of grip I was just disappointed in one of them breaking after reading very good reviews. Maybe I just got a duff pair. However I have now since fixed them with a pair of pliers and they are fine. Still get 4 star as I think that I was just unfortunate and like I said earlier they provided a great deal of great for the price and they'll fit any boot. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Ideal for regular walkers *by D***G on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 🇬🇧 on 8 February 2015* I go out on the hills with my brother almost every Saturday, regardless of the whether. We've tried all the cheap and nasty crampons but they tend to be rubbish! They're okay for emergencies but they don't stay on your boot and we keep losing them. These Pogu crampons are expensive compared to the cheaper versions but I decided to buy a pair for my brother and myself. So what's the difference? We were hill walking in the snow yesterday and we tried them out for the first time. For one thing, these are not going to come off your boot. They are really easy to put on and of course they give you excellent grip on snow and ice. They do however feel a bit weird when waking on the road but it's no big deal, and at one point the metal plate at the back rose up from the base of the heel - where is should be, to the back of the heel, on both boots. That only happened to me though so I'll keep my eye on that. It could have been when I jumped into deep snow or it could have been that I'd pulled them up too high at the back. Once I'd adjusted them they were fine after that.Yeah, they are expensive compared to the cheap ones but we've got them now and I doubt that I'm going to have to buy another pair this decade. I guess then it depends on how much walking you do in the snow and ice. If it's just a one-off then you may as well buy a couple of pairs of the cheaper ones and tie them on with boot laces.
