Fire cement is a good option internally but externally i would consider external quick set cement. Bear in mind unless it's a very small repair these tubes can be annoying and don't hold much i prefer tubs **Q: After squirting it into the hole, what type of tool is best to use to level off the surface?** A: We used this product to repoint the brick joint where the mortar was missing and we used a jointing tool to smooth the surface.
