No overwhelming protein flavor, and because I use half a serving, it's never too thick or anything. It may be thicker with a full serving of two scoops.My only complaint is the "real cereal pieces" claim on it. I was expecting actual generic brand cinnamon toast crunch pieces, but it's really only been weird sprinkle-like chunks of cinnamon flavored (and as another reviewer pointed out, the pieces taste kind of like chocolate too for some reason?) The Apple Smacks has been quite a pleasant flavor so far, and I will definitely be buying more of it in the future.The banana split on the other hand, I would avoid. It has that protein aftertaste, but somehow worse than other protein shakes I've used before. Even then, the banana flavor is off and the rest of the flavors for a banana split are pretty much non-existent. Honestly worse than a basic chocolate shake I picked up at walmart, and at double the price that's not great.I will be trying some of the other flavors as well, but I can say for certain avoid banana split.
