Directions Soak peas overnight. Rinse and drain. Boil for 30-40 minutes or until tender. Drain and use in your favorite dishes. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.

Review: Just the job - My father was born in the Caribbean and I spent a lot of time in South America too, so rice and peas have always been a favourite of mine, yet finding the right peas, (which are actually beans), tends to be quite difficult. It's definitely not the same thing using kidney beans that are frequently used as a replacement in this country. I also much prefer the dried variety to the canned version. These are decent value and have a decent shelf life on them too. I bought this brand before for other things before and they were as good then as they are now. These peas need soaking with a bit of salt - preferably overnight, but 6 to 8 hours will do, and they cook up well. The whole family love these in my rice dishes.
