Bearing in mind this is a AAA powered torch I think its pretty bright. I would of liked the lower setting to maybe be a little brighter. Simple click on for low level, then click off and on again for high. I wanted this as a simple inspection light for hard to reach areas when working on the car/bike. But I think it would do a good job walking the dog too. Only gripe is I wish with smaller torches you could get a cover/pouch for them. Or the option to buy one. Just to protect the finish.
