I wish the author would continue its method to the next level! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Gentle and engaging introduction to a complicated subject *by J***N on November 29, 2023* I am a self-taught student and not experienced with the ancient Greek language by any means: this textbook is my first interaction with the language. It is an introductory textbook, designed to give one the most basic groundwork to begin learning the language. Greek has a reputation for being a very complicated and difficult language, but I have found this book to be written engagingly and paced gently to provide an easy introduction. In particular, concepts which are merely presented as a table to memorize in other books I've looked at are explained and worked through a step at a time in this one, and I found that the author strikes a good balance between not overwhelming me but giving me enough foundational context to build on as I continue my studies. I recently completed this textbook, and have begun to transition into a more comprehensive beginner's textbook, and found myself well-prepared for it.
