I got this as a gift for my cat’s birthday. So far, the both of them have been waging a battle of booping and batting since I’ve pulled this toy out. I’ve had little success with interactive toys so far, so I appreciate being able to test this one out. This was the first interactive toy that both cats took to right when I opened the box and set it up. I can’t say as to how long the battery will last, but the springy motion and toppling of the wire even when the toy is off is sure to entertain my cats. That said, my concern is that any toy shouldn’t be left unmonitored especially since this has a yellow pompom-like attachment (like some cat toys) at the end and is a wire (I don’t see any sharp edges or anything though—reminds me of a sturdier and safer cat dancer toy). Time will tell but I’ll probably modify this down the line if anything does seem dangerous as I like the concept of the toy and the functionality. The little hole on the wand allows for some DIY attachments as long as they’re light, so a lot of customization could be possible if you’re crafty! It would be nice to have them be the same clasp as the feathers or some sturdier hooks. -I worry about accessories being clipped on (but that’s any toy) but toys shouldn’t be used completely unmonitored so it shouldn’t be an issue, but sturdier attachments overall would be nice. -being able to pull out the base attachment easier. I don’t foresee needing this but in case debris gets stuck, the cat-shaped wand base makes it hard to detach. I plugged the cat-shaped wand into the base and I can’t detach it now. She was ok with the toy spinning and seemed interested. Then it started to shake and it terrified her. I tried many times and she just didn’t want to interact with it. I thought maybe if it stayed off she would like to just bat at it and just ignored it entirely. It seems like a very sturdy toy and the couple times she attempted to play, it did stay upright.
