I was a bit surprised at how large they seemed at first but have found they are very comfortable and stable as others have reported. I have been a little disappointed that they tend to slide down my leg after wearing them foe a while, and moving around a lot, requiring me to stand up and pull them back up my legs. This only happens when I'm wearing long pants. It could be that my legs are rather thin but they are pretty large as knee pads go and so heavier than some. I have even found that the straps are longer than necessary for me while others say they are not very long. After over a year of use I am finding that the velcro is wearing out and not holding as well as at first, but this seems to be the case with all hook and loop material that gets used a lot.
