This product is oxygen activated so as soon as you open the package it starts working but you have ample time to use it. The bonus is that if you can’t use all of the “sand”, you can store it as long as you cover it with water. The product hardened for me in about 24 hours. My only gripe is the sand residue that is left over after application. This is especially annoying if you have a pool because it’s hard to sweep off without the product getting into the pool and the residue comes off easily enough but there is so much of it.
