This Blue Stars brand dual run capacitor arrived promptly and when tested with my Klein MM700 multimeter was almost spot on the label rating and well within the claimed 5% tolerance. Replaced an aging Dayton (Grainger) part number 2MEK3B of the same specifications (50 + 7.5 mfd) in a 20 year old Lennox central air unit (not the original capacitor). The dimensions of the Blue Stars capacitor (both diameter and height) matched the Dayton unit being replaced exactly and were consistent with the product listing. The capacitor being replaced was still working and tested OK so it will go on the shelf as a spare. The capacitor itself is clearly marked (C=common, FAN, and HERM (compressor)). Terminals feel solid as does the metal (aluminum) casing. Did not weigh it but felt as heavy (if not slightly more) than the capacitor it was replacing. The product labeling clearly shows China as the place of manufacture but claims it is UL (USA) and CE (Europe) certified (but I have no way to verify this). Product listing in desertcart states a 100% lifetime warranty. Can’t vouch for that either. When installed and tested, the AC unit fired right up with the new capacitor. Far less expensive than I could find locally (Southwest Ohio). Certainly inexpensive enough to either purchase to have a spare on hand or, like me, proactively swap out an aging part before a problem occurs so I could do it at my convenience and schedule. I'd recommend this. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Perfect Replacement Capacitor – Saved Me $300! *by P***P on December 9, 2025* I bought this 7.5 μF run capacitor to replace the weak blower motor capacitor in my HVAC system after a maintenance tech quoted me $300, and doing it myself was much easier than expected. I shut off power at the furnace switch and breaker, removed the blower door, located the old capacitor, took a quick picture of the two purple wires, then disconnected them and safely discharged the capacitor by touching both terminals together with an insulated-handle screwdriver. After removing it from the mounting clamp, I installed the new capacitor, tightened the clamp, pushed the connectors on firmly until they were fully seated, closed the blower door to engage the safety switch, restored power, and tested the system. The blower started instantly, airflow improved noticeably, and the whole HVAC system runs smoother now. The specs matched perfectly, quality seems excellent, and replacing it myself saved me a full $300.
