Because it's a nice, weighty ceramic and a lovely bowl shape, it keeps my coffee warm as I'm getting through to the bottom. I think the style is very attractive, and I like that the inside of the mug is a light enough color that I can actually see the liquid as I pour it in, unlike other mugs with a dark inside color and I have to guard against accidentally overshooting the top. The handle is great for me, I can put all 4 fingers inside the loop, a nice change from the 'teacup' hold of most other cups and mugs. I have been enjoying this big mug for several weeks now, and if you want one that holds 16-20 ounces, I recommend this lovely option!
