## Description

Prest-On 1/2" Insta-Back Drywall Fasteners (50-Count Plumber's Pack) This package contains 50 Prest-On Insta-Back Drywall Fasteners designed for application with 1/2-inch drywall. Fastener Application The Insta-Back fastener clips directly onto the edge of existing wallboard. This provides a backing surface for attaching a new drywall patch. After drywall screws are installed into the fastener, the scored metal tabs are designed to bend and snap off to remove exposed metal prior to the application of drywall tape and joint compound. Board Alignment and Design These fasteners allow for back-blocking of drywall boards edge-to-edge. The lance design provides a 1 to 2-degree taper at the joint. The fasteners are designed for use in both wall installations and ceiling applications. Specifications and Compliance These fasteners are approved for application with both wood and steel studs. They meet the following specifications: Compliant with ICC ESR-1812 Warnock Hersey tested for 1- and 2-hour walls/ceilings Approved by model codes for residential, commercial, and multi-housing construction Meets wind and seismic force values (25-I, ICBO / ASTM E72-80) What's Included 50 x Prest-On Insta-Back Drywall Fasteners (for 1/2" drywall) Manufacturing Made in the USA

## Features

- THE TRADESMAN'S SECRET: Perfect for plumbers, electricians, HVAC techs, and handymen who need to patch access holes fast! The Prest-On Insta-back allows you to remove and reattach any size piece of 1/2" drywall without the hassle of cutting the wallboard all the way back to the nearest stud.
- NO WOOD BACKING REQUIRED: Stop wasting time cutting and wrestling with wooden backing boards. Simply clip the fasteners to the edge of the existing drywall to create a rock-solid, structural backup surface for your replacement piece. Finish your repairs faster and get to the next job.
- BUMP-FREE BUTT JOINTS: Stop fighting with ridged or crowned joints. The Insta-back lets you "back-block" wallboard edge-to-edge. Its patented lance design provides a 1 to 2-degree taper, ensuring a perfectly flat, flawless finished joint that requires less mud and sanding.
- CONVENIENT 50-PACK WITH SNAP-OFF TABS: The perfect size to keep in the work truck or tool bag. Once your replacement drywall is screwed securely into the fastener, the exposed metal tabs easily bend and snap off. No metal is left protruding, leaving the wall ready for immediate finishing.
- PROVEN STRUCTURAL INTEGRITY: Unlike cheap mesh patches, Prest-On fasteners create a fully structural, permanent repair. They comply with ICC ESR-1812, are Fire Resistance Rated, possess verified shear value (ASTM E72-80), and are approved for use with both wood and steel studs. Proudly made in the USA.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Do you still need to tape the joint before spackling if you are using these clips?**
A: Yes, you will still need to apply tape and mud. These are in essence a simple backing method to attach the piece of drywall.
These are great for smaller patches. You don't need to cut the drywall back to a stud. I have used these clips many times. Definitely worth the money!
Glen

**Q: Do they make 5/8 clips**
A: Yes. They sell a 5/8 specific clip on their website, but a 1/2” clip works on 5/8” board. Just bend the clips out a bit at install. The clips break off below surface after screws installed. I’ve ordered from Amazon and their site. Both ship quick.
