A: Your original remote that turns on your pool light should also work your new light, but make sure the A23 battery is installed properly in the remote, pull the antenna all the way out point it to your pool circuit box antenna and it should work for you.

A: yes

**Q: Can I turn the light on and off with the remote? The only way to turn off my current light is at the breaker box.**
A: Yes, absolutely. You'd leave the power on at the box, and use the remote to switch the light on and off. This light works great!

     I highly recommend this LED color changing pool light!  Prior to purchasing I read the reviews that the remote did not work if your light housing was surrounded by metal. I would like to point out that I have an in-ground pool with a metal housing for my pool light and the remote works great.Upon installation, the only upgrade I had to make, was changing my prior switch from a dimmer switch to a standard light switch, which cost me $7.99 at Ace Hardware.  Since this light DOES NOT work with a dimmer switch!If you’re looking for an inexpensive way to upgrade your pool’s look, this is definitely the way to go!  I would buy again... but I only have 1 pool lol!

Updated:After battery replacement light worked well. Installed easy.I am waiting to upgrade rating once I can use the remote for the light. Unfortunately battery was in the remote backwards. Battery is only reading .23 volts of the 12v it's supposed to be. 🙄😢Not sure the light and remote work together yet. For this price I expect something simple like a battery to be 100 %.
