If it keeps cold out it should keep odors out somewhat I would think. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Easy to use *by L***. on May 21, 2025* Very easy and convenient to adjust to size ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ USED THIS ON AN APARTMENT DOOR TO THE HALLWAY - WORKED PERFECTLY - EASY TO INSTALL *by T***S on November 20, 2023* The product is easy to install - it blocks cold air, bugs, apartment hallway noise and smoke from smokers (the neighbor across the hall). We had a problem with flies from the outside getting into the hallway and crawling under the door - problem solved. The apartment is much warmer now. As to noise suppression, the sounds from the hallway outside are less obtrusive but sounds also penetrate walls and doors - so, less is better.It comes with two Styrofoam inserts and a double sleeve for them. Simply follow the instructions - lay the inserts against the base of the door and mark just beyond one edge - scissors cut it easily. Insert the Styrofoam into the sleeves and slip the draft dodger under the door - open the door completely to raise the stretch strap around the hinge edge - do the same for the latch end. It also comes with very clear instructions.Something that the instructions do not cover is that the outside Styrofoam insert needs to be cut a bit shorter in order for it to slip past the door stop strip otherwise it will jam up and make it hard to completely close the door.Suggestion - so far the stretch strap on each end has not slipped down - if it does, simply use an old fashioned (flat head) thumbtack to secure it to the door. One of the evaluation categories was for "adhesion" - not sure how that applies to a stretch strap so I rated that category 5-star because the strap has stayed in place (it does not have "adhesion").I am using this on a hardwood floor - not sure how it will work for carpet (friction). It is very simple to remove and wash after taking out the Styrofoam inserts.UNUSUAL SELLER - Shortly after I ordered this double draft dodger and before I installed it, I received an email from the seller (through Amazon contact security) which included installation instructions and a promise that if for some reason, the draft dodger does not work with my particular door (too wide - too thick - too large of a gap under the door, etc.), send them measurements and they will make a custom one. Wow - I have never seen such an offer from a seller before.
