## Questions & Answers

**Q: Is the handle hollow or solid?**
A: The handle, unfortunately, is hollow. There are two holes INSIDE of the Netipot, that essentially forms a tunnel in the handle. This is an area that also will need to be cleaned thoroughly with pipe cleaners when cleaning the Netipot.

**Q: How much water does it hold?**
A: the himalayan institute ceramic neti pot holds one measuring cup of water. i use mine daily and love it. it works great.

**Q: can i put it in the dishwasher**
A: Well i personally would leave anything that's been up my nose to manual washing but I'm sure the hot water will kill and bacteria!

**Q: Can you use bottled drinking water such as Deer Park or Fiji with the neti pot?**
A: Hello,Good question! You can if you know it's been purified. This is certainly preferred to any form of tap water - boiled or not. You might be better off using distilled water, or even reverse osmosis water that has also gone through an ultraviolet light to kill any remaining pathogens. (You can buy RO systems with an ultraviolet light - a good investment in IMHO.) Distilled and RO water are without minerals. I personally find that hard minerals can be irritating on my sinuses, but I will use bottled spring water on occasion as long as I know it has also been purified and free of any possible pathogens. It's ok to boil your bottled spring water if in doubt - and you can refrigerate it up to a week. Remember, your sinuses can be a direct pathway to the brain for any creepy crawly stuff so also be sure to clean the outside of your water bottles before opening. Boiling tap water is a poor option because it does not remove fluoride or any of the metals that might be present in your water supply. An unrelated note -- lukewarm water might also be easier on your sinuses than room temp. It's a matter of preference.Hope this is helpful.http://www.neilmed.com/ask/index.php?article&qid=34http://www.neilmed.com/ask/index.php?article&qid=1397http://well.blogs.nytimes.com/2012/09/03/rare-infection-prompts-neti-pot-warning/?_r=0
