The resistence, hardness and covering power of Model Air is superior to any know acrylic for airbrushing. The pigments used for airbrush colours need to be ground to the finest possible consistency to avoid obstruction of the airbrush valves. The revolutionary milling process of the pigments used in the Model Air formula gives the modelpainter technical assurance and finest texture when applying the colours to the model, and produces a very superior qualtity when applying the colours with a brush for misiscule details, for washes and transparencies and layered application of diluted glazes. Colours can be mixed with water,Model Air Thinner or Varnish, according to the effect desired, but we recommend the use of Model Air Thinner since this product conserves the properties of the colours. Model Air adheres excepcionally well to all surfaces. The adhesion of Model Air to resin models, plastic, steel and white metal is extraordinary.Once protected with varnish, (Gloss,Matte or Satin) Model Air can be overpainted with solvent based enamels or oilcolours: they withstand cleaning with turprntine and even a light wash with alcohol. The resistance to abrasion of the colours, once varnished is superior to any other waterbased acrylic. From the Manufacturer Acrylicos Vallejo The Vallejo Company was registered in New Jersey, U.S.A., in the year 1965. In these early years it specialized in the manufacture of colors for animated films (cartoons). The most sustained expansion of Vallejo started in the nineties, beginning with the introduction of new products directed at the Model painting and Hobby sector. The company became the first specialist in acrylic colors, with a long and varied experience in all aspects of this branch of manufacturing. Model Air Paint The formula contains a new acrylic resin with properties until now impossible to obtain in a water based acrylic. The resistance, hardness and covering power of Model Air is superior to any known acrylic for airbrushing. Model Air is presented in a 17 ml. bottle with eyedropper. This packaging prevents the paint from evaporating and drying in the container. Review: Performances in practice is superlative! - Excellent brand. Excellent in performance. Review: This is the stuff - Used for weathering model trains. desertcart’s review system is forcing me to review two colors in one review, so here goes: What this seller calls “Blue Angels Blue” is actually Vallejo’s “Deep Blue.” It looks like it would do very well for a Blue Angels jet, but they should call it by the right name. I used it to weather several CSX locomotives, and when mixed with some white, it did an excellent job of giving the CSX blue a faded look. If you need to depict mud splash in Mid-Atlantic states, this Vallejo “Dirt” shade is the stuff for that yellow-brown dirty/muddy look. Both colors hand-brush and airbrush well. I use thinner for airbrushing these, but I know others who don’t. ## Features - The pigments used for airbrush colors are ground to the finest possible consistency - Colors can be mixed with one another or diluted with water - Model Air is presented in a 17 ml. bottle with eyedropper; This packaging prevents the paint from evaporating and drying in the container ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B005HXLQR6 | | Age Range Description | Adult | | Brand | Vallejo | | Brand Name | Vallejo | | Color | Metallic Gun | | Color Code | Not Available | | Container Type | Bottle | | Coverage | Full | | Customer Reviews | 4.7 out of 5 stars 667 Reviews | | Dry Time In Hours | 4 | | Finish Type | Metal | | Full Cure Time | 4 hours | | Global Trade Identification Number | 08429551710725 | | Included Components | Brush | | Indoor Outdoor Usage | Indoor | | Is Waterproof | False | | Item Form | Liquid | | Item Part Number | 72 | | Item Volume | 0.06 fluid ounces | | Item Weight | 0.02 kg | | Manufacturer | MMD Holdings, LLC | | Model Name | Model Air | | Model Number | VJ71072 | | Paint Type | Acrylic | | Part Number | 72 | | Size | 0.57 Fl Oz (Pack of 1) | | Special Feature | Non Flammable, Non Toxic | | Special Features | Non Flammable, Non Toxic | | Specific Uses For Product | Gun | | Surface Recommendation | Plastic,Metal | | Warranty Description | No Warranty | | Water Resistance Level | Waterproof | ## Product Details - **Brand:** Vallejo - **Color:** Metallic Gun - **Finish Type:** Metal - **Indoor/Outdoor Usage:** Indoor - **Item Volume:** 0.06 fluid ounces - **Paint Type:** Acrylic - **Size:** 0.57 Fl Oz (Pack of 1) - **Special Feature:** Non Flammable, Non Toxic - **Specific Uses For Product:** Gun - **Surface Recommendation:** Plastic,Metal ## Images ![Model Air 71072 Gun Metal (17ml) - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/61yiid9A28L.jpg) ## Available Options This product comes in different **Color** options. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Performances in practice is superlative! *by J***L on September 2, 2026* Excellent brand. Airbrush and looks great with a regular brush. Great coverage easy to use. Dries quickly. Works well with an airbrush. Could be a little more in the bottle for the price but it's good for seven to eight bucks ## Frequently Bought Together - Vallejo Gun Metal Paint, 17ml - Vallejo Light Grey Model Color Paint, 17ml - Vallejo Desert Tan 686 Paint, 17ml --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.pl/products/5269084-model-air-71072-gun-metal-17ml](https://www.desertcart.pl/products/5269084-model-air-71072-gun-metal-17ml) --- *Product available on Desertcart Poland* *Store origin: PL* *Last updated: 2026-10-07*
