We didn't use the white caps that cover the screw.We removed them by holding them in a wrench and unscrewing them off the screw. There was already a similar piece in the cabinet doors. We didn't want to dig them out and possibly scratch the door. You may have to make a few adjustments to fit the cabinet door flat using the small adjustment screws.
