I had drains in for 4 days after surgery. After those were removed, I experienced a lot of swelling and was developing seromas on my stomach, despite using a compression garment. The surgeon suggested that I use an ab compression board, which is when I ordered this product. I started using the ab and back boards on day 8 after surgery. The results were immediate. After sleeping with the boards for one night under my compression garment, my stomach swelling went down significantly and I didn't develop any more seromas. The back board help reduce swelling too, but it wasn't as dramatic as in the stomach area. The only major negative to this product for me is that they're quite uncomfortable. They don't breath well, so I'm constantly damp beneath the boards. Also, I can only use them when wearing pants with an elastic waistband.
