**Q: So can i use this to cool down transmission fluid.**
A: I used it as a oil cooler on my 1980 Harley and it is working awesome. I don't think it is big enough to really take care or a car or truck transmission. It's only 5X5 inches

**Q: Small diesel tractor. the hydraulics work off of the transmission fluid (universal trans/hydraulic fluid). can this be used to cool that?**
A: If you are replacing an existing coil, make sure it has the same cooling area.  If you are adding, it will certainly add some level of cooling.  I actually did something very similar in adding one to the hydraulic system on my Kubota lawn tractor.  If you need more cooling, you could also purchase an appropriately sized 12 volt computer cooling fan and attach it to force more air through it.

A: yes, it can be.
