I use these weekly for my 5 kids ages 3-11 and they perform the task adequately.However -- they are not without their quirks.The lids do not click securely into place with the quick work of nimble hands, and the satisfying snap of sealed contact. A more adequate description would be that they reluctantly and creakily groan onto container while you wrestle them into place using downward force of your upper body weight and follow up with "The People's Elbow." However, once you convince the lid on, the container itself seems to be more or less leak proof with foods of higher viscosity -- yogurt, applesauce, pudding, etc. Don't go throwing chicken noodle soup in there an expect your day not to be completely ruined.Which brings me to my second and only other gripe: the container itself is more or less leak resistant BUT-- the inner compartments are way less so!
