Thanks.** A: Hi, I ordered a single item and got a pair delivered, so they seem to be sold in stereo pairs. As mentioned they are about 50mm long so positioning them in the middle of a pair of short Phono extension leads stops them getting damaged on the back of some equipment. **Q: are they directional?** A: I think they are directional. I've not cut into one to check but a multimeter suggests: direct connection between the grounds at either end; single resistor between the signal connectors at either end; 3 switchable resistors between the grounds and signal connectors at the plug end. Therefore the plug should go in the amplifier and the cable from your cd player or whatever should go in the socket end. That way the cd player is seeing a relatively easy load and the amplifier is seeing a reduced signal at one of the 3 switched levels. **Q: Are these a voltage divider with a series and parallel resistor for each attenuator value and what is their input impedance?** A: You are not able to get inside the casing without breaking it. I would assume they are a basic set up of a series/parallel resistor divider. Other makes I have purporting to do similar are basic dividers to attain a fixed attenuation. **Q: Perplexing description - 'appreciated by every musician and DJ, especially for on-the-road applications and on stage' What about home Hi-Fi?** A: I use them with my reasonably good Roksan Kandy amplifier as I found that there was a very small usable rotation of the volume control basically in between 25 to quarter to, this made it difficult to get the correct level as it's either too quiet or too loud, these attenuators give you a far greater rotation of the volume control making it far easier to get the correct level - Also some CD players can overload the input section of some amps these also will prevent that, reducing distortion, you will not lose any power by using these - I found no reduction in quality & my hi-fi if far easier to use now - A few people use them who subscribe to well known UK hi-fi magazine with good results from reading the magazine forum, that is where I first read about these devices. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great performance and value *by P***P on 31 January 2025* Excellent performance.
