Has lock hasp ready for lock. Very satisfied with this box on front of trailer. **Q: what drilling is reqired in mounting?** A: Yes. We mounted ours with four (4) screws into the trailer frame. I am not sure how else you would mount it. **Q: Will the harbor freight 2000 watt generator fit in this?** A: It will if your lay it sideways. But honestly it being a generator I wouldn’t. **Q: Can it be used as a boat seat or is the top not sturdy enough?** A: Most certainly not sturdy enough. The box is made of a very durable and sturdy thick plastic (went with plastic because they don’t rust.) has a latch for a padlock. Looks great on my utility trailer. Allows me to store 2 sets of wheel chocks , 4-6 ratchet straps, a cargo net and still plenty of space for tools/oils, etc. The only thing that could have made it better is that it does not come with any hardware. I used square U-bolts, just remember to seal the clamp holes with RTV or something. Other than that, super functional, I love it and a great buy. No regrets and would buy again.
