Will this work with cabinets that are 12" deep? **Q: To direct wire this ..Do you just cut off the plug and connect the wires?** A: As an electrician you SHOULD NOT do what is suggested above “shoving the wires into the wall”. It is against code and not safe to make connections in the wall or outside of the unit. The cord could be removed and connections made with wire nuts inside of the unit. **Q: Does this come in white?** A: This unit is only available in stainless steel. **Q: can the cos-5mue used with an existing 7" vent ?** A: Thank you for your question. The logo comes with it, so you can decide if and where you want to apply it. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good value for the money, but ductless filter was hard to install. *by G***A on November 21, 2025* Looks really nice, but it wasn't the easiest to get installed! The guy who helped needed a while to figure out how to convert the wiring from the included plug and cord to a back-wired installation; that worked OK, but when we went to do the ductless conversion, despite ordering a genuine Cosmo CFK4 Filter, it would simply NOT attach the way it was supposed to. Finally in desperation we used some duct tape and simply taped it in place and replaced the screens. Hey, it's working, and for the price, I'm happy. Looks good, works well, quite quiet. The lights are a bit dim, and I don't like the way they are placed at the back; it would have been much better to have them in the middle.
