They usually run to the back of the cage and once the door opens they run out and away from you. Same goes for raccoons and possums. If you're trying to capture them and detain once out if the cage I cannot tell you how difficult that is. Hope this helps. I'd recommend them to anyone. I've even caught squirrels in the smaller cage and caught a raccoon in the small cage. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5 stars from the trapper, 0 stars from the trapped. *by M***M on 30 December 2015* It took near two weeks to finally catch the little pest, but I did it. I caught the raccoon who on numerous occasions tried to come into my house. He has since been moved to a new home.Interestingly enough, the trap came with a quick guide for which bait to use for your pest. It was recommended to use cat food for raccoon problems. As this was my problem, and I only had cat food, I threw out a bowl of cat food in the trap. To my surprise, and what really shouldn't have been such, I managed to catch my neighbors cat not once - but twice before finally getting the raccoon. I suppose this could be another selling point, this trap can catch your cat if he/she doesn't want to come inside.I can't say the raccoon or cat would've given the trap a 5 star rating however. They both seemed to be fairly disappointed with the accommodations. On a serious note - the trap does have some pretty sharp edges on some of the sheet metal. The raccoon cut himself up pretty bad trying to escape. Just something to note. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Backing the claim up with photos *by D***D on 24 July 2015* I am not one to typically take the time and write a review like most people out there. However, this is one product I am going to take the time to write about. My back yard has been invaded by raccoons, possums, and feral cats. I hate having to chase my dog all over the yard because she picks up on a scent and then goes on the hunt. So it was time for eviction notice to be given to all the animals that weren't my dog. I did my time and research try to find the best deal for what I needed. These two traps have been out only two nights and as you can see the proof is in the pudding. If you going to do this make sure you read up on how to trap an animal placement, baiting, and scent control and you will have great success. If you do your part the trap will do its part as you can see. Our garage was invaded by opossums and we tried everything short of poison to get rid of them. We found this item on Amazon, read the positive reviews and took a chance. They arrived promptly and in perfect condition, ready to use as stated. We were skeptical but laid the two traps out at night. When we opened the garage door BAM!!! there they were in both cages, on the FIRST try! We were thrilled. They were transported to the river area and released un harmed. Kudos to the manufacturers of this great product. Instead of chemicals or those electronic repellers use this. You get two cages , one small and one large . They are ready to use right out of the box , well built and sturdy. The animals are safely removed and you are free of guilt. If I could give it 10 Stars I would.
