It's light but insulates well. It's the middle of a cold snap in Nebraska and wind chills can hit -20 below. This coat does an excellent job blocking the wind and keeps you from freezing. Don't get me wrong - you're not going to think you are in a sauna in such conditions but you won't be shivering. If you're exerting yourself - say, shoveling snow - pretty soon you won't feel the cold at all. Fit and construction are excellent and it's water and dog slobber repellent. Mobility is good and it's long enough to CYA and keep it from freezing ,too.
