Since getting it I have canned lots of soup using my garden produce. Reason for getting it was not having to be totally reliant on the freezer and to increase food storage capacity. I also buy chicken bits in bulk to can as pet food. It is a great lump of a pot ,taking up a lot of room but it is handy just to be able to take a jar of homemade soup off the shelf to eat at once.
