( individual strands from pulling through if tugged on)** A: Use dental floss instead of yarn when tying it off, since dental floss is thin and doesn't break. If need be, wrap the ends of the floss around something (like wooden spoon handles) to give you extra "torque" when pulling it. I think whether you use yarn or or something else, the trick is to pull it very tight before you knot it. Do it more than once, I like to make a knot, then wrap the floss around the second time and knot again. Also, no matter how tight you make the pom pom, if someone is intent on pulling out a strand of yarn they'll be able to do so **Q: Do you have to use wool? Why not acrylic yarn that my hat is made of** A: You can use Acrylic yarn, Wool, Cotton..any yarn you want. **Q: Once the instructions are understood is this easy to use? Like could a make 100 large yarn pompoms in a couple of hours?** A: It's really easy to use, but the larger the pom pom, the longer it takes to make them. I don't think there is any way you could make 100 in a couple of hours. I didn't time the kids making them, but even the fastest ones probably took at least 15 minutes each. You have to wrap the yarn many, many times, then you have to clip the yarn. Unless you have scissors that are extremely sharp at the tip, it takes a while to clip the yarn. We think of this as more of a fun project rather than a speed project. **Q: How many pom poms does 1 skein of yarn make?** A: Depends on the amount of yard and how thick ure making ur pom pom.. the thickness rele is how fluffy u want it.
