I whipped out 50 plugs with the smaller cutter using a hand held drill, I had a few fails but lots of good plugs, most of the fails were faults in the wood and trying to cut to close to the previous plug. The plugs have a slight taper and fit snuggly in the pilot hole. Having read previous reviews I’ll make a jig with a bit of thin ply to stop the skittering. Very pleased not to be making fires anymore. I really like fitting plugs over my visible screws and these cutters are going to increase productivity and reduce the strain on my drill. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good quality - perfect for making wood plugs *by A***X on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 30 April 2021* Ideal tool for making wood plugs to hide screw heads in an oak feature wall project. It is best if you have a pillar drill to keep the plug cutters vertical as they have a tendency to skid across the surface of the wood when starting the cut. If you only have a hand drill then make a template out of scrap wood, drill a hole big enough to take the plug cutter and then clamp it to the piece you are making the plugs from. Drill in a few millimeter's to make a full circle then remove the template to finish cutting the plug to full depth. I broke the supplied 3.25mm drill and didn't have a replacement but managed easily using a 3.0mm one.Tip - good video on Youtube showing how to cut off and finish the fitted plug without marking your surrounding wood. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I have been looking for kit like this for a while! *by M***L on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 15 November 2019* Back inn the 70's/80's, Stanley tools sold "Screwmate" counter bores and pellet cutters, which were one piece drills and when the small end broke off they had little use. I had seen counter bores like this previously, but with no accompanying pellet cutters. I was a DT teacher for nigh on 40 years, and managed to get my technicians to make various tools like this too.
