Can anyone know reason?** A: I believe this is what is called a preamp, so I would suggest you connected your better speakers to the subwoofer and see how you go :-) Don't forget to select the correct source on the desk unit, and personally I rely upon my Mac to select the volume adjustments and turn the main unit on the desk up to maximum volume. If it still doesn't work, contact the company, they are very good at correspondence although when I received them they were from Germany, and I had to buy an adapter for my UK sockets.
