I have pewter ornaments of various sizes thus weights.** A: I can't answer your question because as yet not recieved the cabinet **Q: is the lock optional does it have to be fitted ?** A: The lock is optional. I have chosen not to fit it on my Unit. **Q: How much weight can be put on these shelves? Thanks** A: I ordered this cabinet in light oak on January 27th as it was needed by March 22nd and to date I have not received it! The Amazon website will not allow me to cancel the order stating that the order is in transit. Amazon send me automatic updates with new delivery dates every few weeks.
