I ordered the same brand shear for double the price and they were very sharp, sleek, and I had to cut with care so I didn't invest in Bandaids! They were precise and I could count on them to cut what I wanted cut, not bending or pushing. Unfortunately, those went missing after two weeks along with my thinners and feel that a client helped themselves, as my co workers of 29 years wouldn't have:( I don't buy really expensive shears anymore; I have not found someone to sharpen them properly, as they are never the same, and would rather replace them once they have too many nicks. That being said, I gave these a try since I needed to replace my trimmers(sterling mag=love), thinners, and shears. The $40 ones are thicker bulkier, and a bit heavier, are still sharp, but not as dangerously sharp as my first pair, but I noticed they push the hair unlike the $80 pair. (not as precise) I do a lot of dry point cutting and thinning with my shears. Both are good for sharpness. I do like the brand, their thinning shears are ok, thin, cut well, but are bulky. (3 🌟' s) But the price is right and replacing isn't a twist in the gut. I know these are cheaper priced shears and they work great for the $. I like a longer shear and these fit the bill. I have small fingers and the inserts are perfect comfort wise (ring finger size 5). I also am not a fan of the tension knob that sticks out many shears, because of how I cut, it gets in the way, which is why I chose these for their sleekness. If I were to reorder from this brand I would go back to spending the money on the $80 ones. And I now bring home my tools! We will se how these hold up on a daily basis.
