It allows to wireless transmit or receive from your Arduino board. It 915MHz, and in theory it can allow you to transmit up to 10 miles in open spaces. But I think 1 will mile will be optimum in our cities with no obstruction. The good thing about it that it consumes very small current compared to other boards on the market. this board is BSFrance actually (see pictures), which is a very good company. I like the fact that it has an SMA adapter, which will allow you to change the antenna if you wanted to reach longer distances. Also, this board has a built-in charging circuit, which means you can charge your battery through it. I am thinking to use it with a 1s 3.7v battery, and charge it through a solar panel if I installed in a far place!I did not face any issues with my board - programming wise - like the other customer mentioned. Though, if you were new in this field is to go through the documentation or watch some youtube videos that are available for similar boards and procedures.Overall, that item arrived well packaged and performed as described! ### ⭐ 1.0 out of 5 stars STAY AWAY FROM THESE UNITS! Can't get radio to work even after heavily modifying the examples and libraries *by A***T on Reviewed in the United States on October 15, 2017* If I could rate this product 0 stars, I would. Bought 3 boards, when they arrived, 2 of the 3 antennas would not screw onto the jumper cable. I used a few u.FL jumper and patch antennas I had from another project to replace these bad ones, and connected everything up. I followed instructions in the link for Mac and PC exactly , using several different machines. The boards ARE recognized by the computers and you can upload a sketch to these boards in the Arduino software, the libraries DO install (but evidently, even though it is not in the instruction text file, you need to modify some of the library header files to change some default pin mappings - information that is buried in a .docx file in one of the library folders - hope you have Word!), I stil l couldn't get the units to send or receive anything over the radio interface. Very expensive paperweights. My $6 / each Arduino NANO boards with an nRF24L01+ act better than this. They're much cheaper and come with a uFL connnector and matching antenna. The ones I received also came with a jst pigtail to wire up your own battery.
