I bought it purposely to repair the lid of an old ceramic sugar bowl, of purely sentimental value. I already had superglue, which would probably have worked but does not give a very strong bond. I have used epoxy adhesives in the past for ceramic repair and often been disappointed by the poor fit of fragments and the yellowish lines of the adhesive that remains clearly visible between them. The simple dual-syringe mechanism works perfectly, as does the re-sealable cap. Working time is sufficient to mix the product, apply with due care to two surfaces and to press the pieces into position until they are fairly firmly fixed. It's worth noting that you also have a short time to wipe away any excess adhesive - definitely do this before it sets! I left the repair to cure fully overnight and the result is perfect - the join is almost entirely invisible. I can hardly see where the crack was. **Q: Would this fix a rearview mirror that completely came off?** A: At the auto part store they make an adhesive for rearview mirrors, about $10, clean the glass with 90% alcohol, use tape to hold the mirror plate in position.I would let it dry for 2 hours minimum. **Q: will this work on crystal** A: Regrettably, not in a safe, lovely or reliable way...what seems to work best for porcelain, crystal and glass is old fashioned Elmer's white glue, which actually dries clear, is non-toxic and does a relatively good job of adhering to porous surfaces. Admittedly, for crystal it is also not ideal...but crystal has a complex formulation, with lead and other metals melted into the silica of the glass...that is what makes it strong, thin, and ring like a bell. The PC clear epoxy does not work well on porous surfaces, and I would never drink from a glass mended with it! It would work if you were just mending it for cosmetic reasons...or perhaps reattaching a stem, rather than a portion of the drinking surface. I have used the Devcon epoxy for many glass repairs quite successfully, but I would still be careful with drinking from any repaired surface, but it does adhere to porous surfaces better.
