While it’s possible to adjust the length and tuck the excess into the metal rose, I advise against this. Winding live wires can generate a magnetic field that produces heat, so cutting the cable was the wisest choice for safety. If you’re transitioning from a traditional ceiling rose, you’ll need a junction box to connect the ceiling wiring to the pendant. After that, you'll run a separate cable from the junction box to the ceiling pendant. If you’re uncertain about the wiring process, I cannot emphasise enough the importance of hiring a qualified electrician to ensure everything is done safely and correctly. It looks really good and matches the pictures. Recommended. It’s easy to mount. Although the unit I received had a damaged screw terminal block, it was very easy to fix. Not a five-star rating for that reason only.
