**Q: How much surface does one box cover?**
A: 30 - 40 square. feet

**Q: how many days does it take to complete? do you need to open the windows to air the house for ventilation?**
A: Count on two days.  Odor is not bad.

**Q: Can hot pots be placed on this counter??  Or would they leave a mark and burn it?**
A: They leave a mark. It looks like a discoloration. I strongly advise against this product! The end result is not esthetically pleasing at all! I actually tried to get a refund and it was beyond my time period.

**Q: Is the finished surface smooth or textured?**
A: Textured.

This is an amazing product, quite strong. And easy to apply. Only problem was when I left a cutting board on the countertop and water was underneath it, it discoloured the spreadstone. So I have to redo this area. Other that that great product.

I absolutely love my new kitchen counters! I just finished them a week ago so I can't comment on durability yet but the transformation is amazing. I posted before and after pics using the volcanic black on tan laminate counters. The part that took the longest was the taping but it is an essential step because you can't use brush strokes with the brush or you will see the lines. Follow the instructions to dab with the brush. I learned this the hard way but the brushstrokes in the finished counters are not noticeable to anyone but me. I wound up removing the tape before I put on the clear coat and I would recommend it. It allowed me to see small edges/spots that needed touch ups before the final step and I think my edges around my sink and stove are better sealed this way. The product was very easy to apply (no harder than painting). I bought two kits to cover about 48 sq ft and could have just made it with one kit. I'm glad I have extra for touch up later though.
