This lock works great. This lower cost model doesn't include the wifi card for connecting to a home network but it can be added later. So far battery life is excellent, daily operation problem free. If you bungle the code three times in a row the lock locks you out for a minute. The control panel and casing look and feel great. Important that after installation the locking mechanism moves freely. If the hole on the edge of the door was not drilled perfectly straight the lock may have to be mounted at a slight angle to compensate. In other words, when you look at the lock from the outside or inside the rectangular lock may not be perfectly straight up and down. With my old round mechanical deadbolt the skew was not noticeable (because the lock face was round). If you try to force the Yale to be vertically aligned it may put pressure on the deadbolt slider making it hard to lock and unlock. This will not work with a battery operated lock. It must have zero resistance when you turn the handle on the inside to lock it or the motor will work too hard and the battery life and reliability of the lock will be compromised. Note: I live in an older home with nonstandard doors. You should not have this issue with pre-drilled new doors.. The first gen lock ($139 one) uses only z-wave to communicate wirelessly. Echo Plus uses ZigBee only. **Q: does this item come with the z-module needed for home automation?** A: Yes. I purchased model YRD210-ZW-0BP and it DID come with the Z-Wave module included. That's probably what the -ZW- in the middle of the product code stands for. **Q: What are the differences between models yrd216zw605 and yrd210zw605?** A: I don’t know the difference between these models. **Q: can you program more than one code , can codes be tunred on off for periods of time if needs, i.e. housekeeper, allow people to stay over etc?** A: Yes, you can program multiple codes. Using a z-wave system you should be able set start and end dates and times for the codes. I use the Mi casa Vera system and I can easily add, delete and change the codes from anywhere as well as check the status of the lock, lock and unlock it. I have the IQ Panel 2Plus interface which connected with the lock in a few seconds. Installation and programming together took less than 15 minutes.
