Arb has its own kind of awning. **Q: is there a screen tent that will attach to it? and it is 8 ft 2inches** A: No not this type of awning. **Q: Is there a way to mount this to round Yakima bars?** A: Yes, they can be mounted to a variety of roof racks, rails, baskets etc. Mine is mounted to a round bar roof basket with no issues. It will come with a manual that explains the 3 main mounting options, & option 2 is for round bar mounting. **Q: It states that it is retractable, does it indeed retract under spring tension, and if so, has it held up well for those who purchased this item?** A: Not Retractable. I have a little step stool that puts me up close to it and it's up in no time. I also have the front panel and one side panel and those were easy to deploy. Love It! Would buy again! Now the bad on the install....The hardware that came with the awning was not that bad, but the nylon 'lock' nuts froze when I tried to bolt them on which ended up completely stripping the inside aluminum body of the mount making it useless. I also had to cut the bolt off which was ridiculous because of my roof rack, it should have been in place in 30 minutes.
