Review: Rusted after first wash. Not stainless steel as described! - This madeleine tray was put in the dishwasher before first use. Description states it is dishwasher safe so this shouldn't have been an issue, however it is now covered in spot of rust. Stainless steel shouldnt rust so now we can't use it as we don't know what unsafe material it is made of. It certainly looks cheap, as though painted silver. I wouldn't use it, especially not for my son who this was purchased for. Will be requesting a refund.

And occasionally when something is super awesome- but there are many similar items on here, I will chime in: hence, here we are. This is my first time making madeleines, and I needee minis, because they're going to be part of a ridiculous cake for a friend. I haven't used any from-scratch recipes yet, just testing the stuff I need for said bday cake. But so far, using a standard gluten-free chocolate cake box mix.... this pan is amazing! It's mostly non-stick, but when I lightly buttered it- the madelines slid out with perfect lines. I tried a batch without butter, and they did stick ever so slightly so they came out, but bits of detail were lost. Buttered is better. Super cute. They take mere minutes to bake. They puff up perfectly and cool off quickly. I love it so much that I just ordered a second pan even though I don't need it for the cake. ☺️ Seems to be a very well made pan. But because of the coating, I'd suggest careful handwashing, or maybe a lower heat dishwasher cycle. I'll be handwashing mine.
