The valve looks good quality and I have not noticed any drop in pressure. It can also adjust the flow rate of the water. I fitted mine at the tap end of the shower hose as it was more convenient for me. It only took a few minutes to fit. If the lever does not not end up where you want it after tightening, you could try using extra/thinner washers in the fitting. Maybe also PTFE tape. Very pleased with this product. Update1... many weeks later and its is STILL WORKING PERFECTLY. Very pleased. Update2: After 2+ years (approx 2500 showers!) it has started to drip VERY slightly. I'm totally fine with that and have ordered another :-) Only downside is that the bore is VERY narrow so it does reduce pressure slightly. My isolation valve is in the loft. Would one of these valves stopped the water flow until i could fix showe** A: It only isolates the shower head. I can only suggest you us the stop cock under the sink, if the stop cock is there.
