Of great importance is the use for sealing expansion joints in building constructions, joints, cladding, frame connections of wood, metal and plastic windows, window sills and doors, joints in metal - and apparatus joints in the insulation and climate construction, for sealing of single-pane insulating glass and (in conjunction with laminated safety glass) in wood and metal frames.For grouting of natural stone, use Coltogum type marble.For gluing mirrors, use Coltogum type external joints.For aquariums, use Coltogum type aquarium exclusively.Recommended Application NotesBefore application of Coltogum sealant type standard universal on surfaces (surfaces) that were pre-treated with water-borne paint systems, adhesion tests must be carried out. In case of poor adhesion, the surface must be primed with an adhesive coating.In case of light painted surfaces, the window sash should be stored upright after sealing so that an exhaust ventilation is ensured - minimum distance 5 cm (risk of discolouration). In rooms where dispersion paints come to use, make sure that the paint is completely dry and aired as during contact with Coltogum sealant type standard universal, jointing or seals in the interior can get discoloured by cleavage products of the dispersion paint of the sealant.Processing:Not paintable. The processing can be performed at temperatures up to 0°C. The joints must be free of ice. Old silicone sealant can be removed with ,"Coltogum silicone remover".Surfaces must be clean, grease-free and dry. Concrete, mortar, plaster and fillers must have completely set and be completely dry. Non-porous surfaces such as glass, metal, etc. can be cleaned with Coltogum primer. For plastics, carry out self-tests depending on quality. With Coltogum primer type 2, you have a particular type available that supports you. The highly variable quality width makes self-tests essential.(Acrylic absolutely needs to be pretreated with Coltogum primer type 1). Pre-treat absorbent, porous surfaces such as wood, etc. with the appropriate primer Coltogum type 3. Styrofoam should not be primed. Equalize before smoothing the skin formation with Coltogum smoothing trowel using Coltogum smoothing agent.
