Review: Versatile, lightweight and good looking yet rugged for outdoors. - Exceptional and very versatile. I used the plate that came with the tripod fitting it to my scope so it’s an easy coupling ready to go when I need it. The quality is obvious unlike cheap riveted tripods and I even found it had sure footing to used collapsed to lowest setting on a hide shelf so very pleased. ## Features - From open prairie to rolling foothills, the Mountain Pass is the perfect compact tripod for your next adventure striking a balance between packability, sturdiness and value. - The two-way pan and tilt head is designed to hold your spotting scope or binoculars via an Arca-Swiss compatible quick-release system - The machined aluminum design offers outstanding durability in a smaller light weight package and with a 22-pound max load; the Mountain Pass won’t struggle under the weight of larger binoculars and spotting scopes. - Durable, telescoping legs adjust independently and lock with a quick flip of a lever. - All together it’s a total tripod package with smooth, steady, and reliable operation that won’t let you down. ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B0BRNS143M | | Audio Recording | No | | Best Sellers Rank | #52,196 in Electronics ( See Top 100 in Electronics ) #273 in Complete Tripod Units | | Brand | Vortex | | Color | Black | | Colour | Black | | Compatible Devices | Spotting Scope, Binoculars | | Compatible devices | Spotting Scope, Binoculars | | Customer Reviews | 4.6 out of 5 stars 300 Reviews | | Folded Size | 19' x 4'' | | Global Trade Identification Number | 00843829129282 | | Head Type | Pan Heads | | Included Components | Vortex Optics - Mountain Pass Tripod Kit (TR-MTP) | | Item Length | 12.67 Inches | | Item Type Name | Tripod. | | Item Weight | 0.45 Kilograms | | Item weight | 0.45 Kilograms | | Leg Diameter | 0.75 inches | | Manufacturer | Vortex | | Manufacturer Part Number | TR-MTP | | Material | Aluminum | | Material Type | Aluminum | | Maximum Height | 56 Inches | | Media Type | ProductImage | | Model Name | Mountain Pass Tripod Kit | | Model Number | TR-MTP | | Model Series | Mountain Pass | | Number of Items | 1 | | Screen Size | 19 Inches | | Special Features | Lightweight | | Special features | Lightweight | | UPC | 843829129282 | | Unit Count | 1.0 Count | | Water Resistance Level | Not Water Resistant | | Weight Limit | 22 Pounds | ## Product Details - **Brand:** Vortex - **Colour:** Black - **Compatible devices:** Spotting Scope, Binoculars - **Material:** Aluminum - **Special features:** Lightweight ## Images ![Optics Mountain Pass Tripod Kit - 2-Way Pan Head, 22 lb Max Load, Arca-Swiss Head Mount - Unlimited, Unconditional Warranty - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71ULR9Be4-L.jpg) ## Questions & Answers **Q: could this be used as a tabletop model with vortex diamondback hd 20x60 85 ?** A: Yes, It does have adjustable legs and can be used on a tabletop. **Q: Could be use tu hold a rifle for shooting?** A: Yes and if your rifle has the ARCA Swiss rail it’ll go right on with nothing else needed. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Perfect for Hunting – Lightweight, Solid, and Easy to Use *by H***Ć on 28 March 2026* picked this up for my Colorado hunting trip in November and made sure to get some time behind it beforehand. I used the plate that came with the tripod fitting it to my scope so it’s an easy coupling ready to go when I need it. The quality is obvious unlike cheap riveted tripods and I even found it had sure footing to used collapsed to lowest setting on a hide shelf so very pleased. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ You get what you pay for. You won't regret this purchase. *by T***R on 12 June 2025* TLDR: While the product is expensive the quality features and warranty are unparalleled. I was looking for a product to use with my vortex spotting scope that would have a cell phone attachment on it. Pros Weight and size: It's light and can easily fit in a backpack. Versatility: You need this while standing, no problem. You're sitting in a blind lying down? No problem it can get 9 inches off the ground. Quality: the fit and finish are great Features: I like the way the locking and swivel work. They are easy to use and intuitive. Warranty: the no hassle warranty is a game changer. You can have confidence it's a buy it for life product. Cons Price: The cost gave me pause. I thought why would I pay this much when other products do the same thing? After trying many others this is in a class of its own. No other product came close. This is a joy to use. Quick Relase: It's works and it works well. That being said I found one of the other competitors worked better in this function. ## Frequently Bought Together - Vortex Optics Mountain Pass Tripod Kit | Aluminum Tripod & Pan Head - Vortex Optics Crossfire HD Spotting Scopes - HD Optical System, Wide Field of View, Helical Focus, Tripod Adaptable, Rubber Armor, Waterproof, Fogproof, Shockproof - Unlimited, Unconditional Warranty - Vortex Optics Car Window Mount | Use with Binoculars & Spotting Scopes --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.pl/products/503741479-optics-mountain-pass-tripod-kit-2-way-pan-head-22](https://www.desertcart.pl/products/503741479-optics-mountain-pass-tripod-kit-2-way-pan-head-22) --- *Product available on Desertcart Poland* *Store origin: PL* *Last updated: 2026-10-10*
