RibasuBB Automatic CNC Spot Welding Machine, Handheld Welding Machine Portable for Metal, 110v / 60hz Permanent Jewelry Welder kits Weldable Solid Gold, Aluminum, Titanium Welding - desertcart.com

Review: Easy to use quality laser welder - Works well for eyeglasses frame repair. Just one zap and the frame is welded back together. It could be intimidating at first cuz the high power and zapping, but it turned out it’s pretty easy to use. Just make sure to do your research and read the manual.
Review: Not perfect, but it works - • 𝗢𝗿𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴: I ordered and received the so-called "desertcart permanent jewelry welder", which is manufactured by Jinhuo. I really do wish all of these separate product listings would be combined, but for now I can say that purchasing from this listing at this time got me a brand-new product with all the expected accessories (no extra items such as safety goggles). Due to some reports of inconsistent quality, I chose to purchase from a seller that fulfilled with desertcart in case I needed to easily return the product, but I am satisfied enough with what I received. • 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝘀 (𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝘂𝘀 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝗶𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗮𝗱𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗶𝘀𝗲𝗱): This is a relatively affordable micro-TIG spot welder that has some popularity for permanent jewelry but can also be used to do small welds on some other non-precious metals. It has adjustments for the power in the form of power percentage (1%-10% in 1% increments) and time in milliseconds (3ms-30ms in 3ms increments). I suspect the power percentage is actually multiplied by 10, so 1% might actually be 10%. There are power preset buttons on the right, which might be useful for some people. When it is first turned on, the power sets itself to 2%, 6ms, which matches the "Ortho"(dontics) preset. If it is left unused for a few minutes, it will reset to these settings as well. There is another button that adjusts the argon discharge time between 3 options (.5 seconds, 1 second, 1.5 seconds). The "Ready" light should illuminate shortly after powering on, and also shortly after discharge. Large grounded smooth tweezers and a grounded alligator clip need to hold or be connected somehow to your intended target. When the tungsten needle touches the target, the electrical circuit is completed and the device begins its welding routine. So it's automatic, with no foot pedal. Regardless of whether argon is connected, the argon valve is opened for the specified duration, followed by the high-power discharge and the tungsten needle withdrawing from the target. The withdrawal and the gap it creates is what allows an electric arc/spark to briefly form and melt a small area in the metal. Within a second, the needle will return and the welder should be "Ready" again. It normally beeps and clicks as it operates. This is 𝗻𝗼𝘁 a continuous TIG welder, so if you want to weld a larger area with this, you'll need to do many small welds in a row one dot at a time, which will not necessarily be a smooth result. This is also 𝗻𝗼𝘁 a battery spot welder or a laser welder or a solderer. It does not emit a flame, or at least it shouldn't. Some product pictures or product titles are misleading in this regard. • 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗹𝘆: Not really difficult at all to assemble, just make sure everything is firmly connected. Power cord is straightforward. Gas hoses (if using argon) use a compression fitting - push in the hose while also pushing in the plastic at the fitting. The TIG torch / wand attaches to the front with a connection that fits in only one position - take a look at the tabs before attaching and screwing it on. There are 2 sizes of tungsten electrode, and 2 matching sizes of collet. When fully assembled, the electrode should protrude a short distance from the wand. Using the supplied stand is optional, and mine is pretty tight even when loosened. The stand easily fits together using supplied hex bolts and wrench. • 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲: Once you have the optimal settings for your material figured out, it's just touch, zap, check, repeat. If you un-touch after touching, the machine may cancel the weld. The electrode sharpener is functional, but generally awful. It is a USB-powered motor with a diamond grinder attached. I plug it into an old portable USB battery pack with a 2 amp output using the supplied USB-A to USB-A cord. There is no power switch or speed control, so it's either plugged in or not. The grinder is just open-air, so you have to hold the needle against it at whatever angle you think is correct. Design flaws aside, the one I received had a poorly attached diamond grinder, with the screw placement causing a wobbly grinder. I replaced the screw to get a straighter attachment, but I will look for an affordable sharpener to replace this entirely. One of the complaints I'm aware of and experienced is that even at the lowest setting (1%, 3ms), there may be too much power for some welds, particularly on small gauge targets. This can result in melting too much of the target instead of welding a small area together. Definitely do some test welds when working with a new material, and make a note of the optimal settings, but I don't personally have a solution for an overpowered minimum setting. Another complaint I'm aware of and experienced is that welds may have inconsistent results. There might be something to this, but there are a lot of solvable contributing factors like the tungsten tip's condition, cleanliness of the target, accuracy of tip placement, and position of the target (is your jump ring fully closed?). Some users complain of argon leaks. Before purchasing my first tank, I did a simple test of the internal valve by blowing into the supplied hose while performing a weld. It appeared that the valve was working correctly, only allowing air to pass for the appropriate duration. The supplied pressure gauge / valve/ oil separator / hose adaptor (8mm to 6mm) is another potential failure point. I am using it for now, but am considering removing it and replacing the supplied hoses with a single one connecting the argon directly to the welder. At the moment, I believe I do indeed have a very slow leak somewhere after the regulator, so I am closing the regulator and tank valves completely when done. Using argon is technically optional, but without it, there will likely be a lot of tarnishing and carbon scorching. Most of the residue can be easily removed, but some can get embedded in the weld. Argon displaces the air and will not ignite, preventing most scorching, generally making the welding process more enjoyable and improving weld quality. Small tanks (20-55 cubic feet) may be enough for most users, since the gas is only briefly emitting. Compare that to a traditional TIG welder which can emit argon continuously because it can weld continuously. A small tank should last hundreds to thousands of welds on this machine. The wand cord / hose is pretty short and stiff. This can make some work awkward, but that's better than it accidentally kinking and preventing proper argon emission or causing internal wire damage. • 𝗡𝗼𝘁 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗹𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗱: Like any welder, you will need to buy some equipment separately. This includes things like welding goggles and argon. • 𝗜𝗳 𝗶𝘁 𝗯𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗸𝘀: The desertcart 30-day return period was my only expected warranty. Replacing the external objects (if you can find replacements) is probably your only real servicing option, and there is no visible fuse.
